one of the directions my wife and i wanted to move in was to travel more. we began doing as much as possible to make our businesses completely mobile and completely sustainable. over the last four months, since we've moved to VA Beach, we've been on the road quite a bit. we've been through PA, DE, MD, and bounced all over VA. we have been on the road as much, if not more, than we've been home since we've moved. today we are actually on the road to Georgia for thanksgiving with some close friends and their family.
we both love to travel and decided we needed to start doing those things which we love. we've thought for sometime about traveling around the world and visiting friends, helping those in need, loving with those we visit, and partaking in the kingdom wherever we are. this Georgia trip will be our next little venture out as we gear up for longer trips that are further from the beach. we are shooting for a 20-30 day trip to the west coast in late jan/early feb (Oregon coast, Portland-heads up rick meigs, Salem, down to Sacramento-heads up john smulo, San Francisco, and possibly Arizona). Germany will hopefully follow in the summer or fall as well as Nepal. my brother-in-law and his wife live in Germany and we would like to visit our exporters and the schools that we help support through Rugmark.
to facilitate this lifeshift...
*we've had to move our banking online (not a big step for us).
*we do our research and visit local galleries for business purposes (i will blog more on the nature of our businesses later). by including potential business clients, we find the trips often end up paying for themselves at some point.
*we've also had to simplify by going to a strict budget and prioritizing our matters.
*we have had to make traveling a priority and find every possible way to cut costs and corners.
*we have to be certain to connect with our community whenever we are home so that we stay grounded an in some consistent relationships.
*we have gone to a highspeed internet which is completely mobile.
which leads me too the fact that i am posting this from the car en route to Georgia, where we will hang out with a large family and eat fat-fried southern food all week. soon i will fill in the gaps and share more about our move and some of the other shifts we've made in our lives together.
did i mention we have 4 adults, 1 child, 2 large dogs and a mountain bike in a saab 9.5 wagon?

nice. way to be economical Brad. Give me a ring when ever you guys are in town, and I will definitely call you when I'm down your way. Friendships are important. If not the most important thing.
Keep us posted Brad. Looking forward to see you both again.
